Wednesday, May 23: This morning we listen to a lecture at the Hotel Intercontinental on Tourism: A Boom Market Being Born by Gordon Viberg, Director for InterContinental Hotels and Resorts Latin America and President of the National Tourism Chamber (CNET Consejo Nacional Empresarial Turístico).
After our lecture, we check out of our hotel and depart for Cuernavaca, where we have a poolside lunch at Cemanahuac Spanish School.
We then check into our lovely hotel, the Hotel Posada Quinta Las Flores, a with its two pools and beautiful gardens.
In the afternoon, Dr. Robert Rogowsky, Director of Operations for the US International Trade Commission, lectures on the lessons we’ve learned in Mexico so far: Implications and Analysis Assessment.
In the early evening, Dr. Nelly Salgado, Director of Community Health and Social Welfare at the National Institute for Public Health and member of President Vicente Fox’s Migration Affairs Committee discusses Mexican Migration and Its Commercial and Social Impact. Vicente Fox Quesada is a Mexican businessman who was President of Mexico from 1 December 2000 to 30 November 2006. He currently serves as co-President of the Centrist Democrat International, and international organization of Christian democratic political parties (Wikipedia: Vicente Fox).
We then have a Mexican Fiesta in the home of Michal McElwain Malur, the director of our study abroad program.
We have a great time at the fiesta with a late night of dancing, singing, and breaking pinatas. 🙂
